On the beautiful fall afternoon of September 18, 2015, the 2nd Annual Potomac Chapter ISEE Sporting Clays & Pork BBQ event was held at the Timberline Sporting Clays, Chambersburg, PA.

Chris Monger takes aim.

The event began at 12 noon with the pork BBQ dinner served buffet style and available the entire afternoon. Many thanks go out to Mel Peck of C.William Hetzer, Inc. for making arrangements for our outing as well as the delicious Pork BBQ meal provided by Kevin Knouse owner of BBQ Beef & Pig Rig. Following a brief gun safety course given by club member Bob Hockenberry, a round of 50 sporting clays were thrown from ten stations through a beautiful open field and wooded course.

Following the sporting clays, a Wobble Trap event was held where a total of 25 shots were taken from five different stations. A total of 37 members and friends attended the outing with 32 shooters participating in the shooting events. Shooting Plaques with engraved plates were awarded for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd top shooters for both the Sporting Clays & Wobble Trap events as well as the lowest score for each event. In addition, an overall combined “Members Only” 1st place and low score plaque was awarded. This year marked the first time we had Lady Shooters, so a 1st & 2nd place Women’s Division plaques were awarded as well. A total of 12 plaques were awarded at the end of the event. The beautiful shooting plaques with engraved plates were prepared by Artistic Lazer Engraving, Chambersburg, PA.

The entire cost of our 2nd Annual Sporting Clays Shoot & Pork BBQ which included shells, BBQ dinner and club rental was covered by the generous donation and support of the companies and individuals noted at the bottom of page 12. A sign advertising each of these sponsors was placed throughout the shooting course and club entrance. Many thanks to each and every one mentioned for providing support for our Chapter event. Please make sure you thank the supporters and sponsors of our event when you have a chance.

I think it’s safe to say that from the novice to experienced shooter, everyone that participated had a great time and wonderful afternoon and are looking forward to the next Potomac Chapter Sporting Clays & Wobble Trap event!
