Letter from the President:
2008/2009...This year has already been full of its changes and challenges. As your Chapter's new President I look forward to leading you through the next year. The economy is tough; regulations are tighter, bringing greater challenges to an already tightly controlled industry.
Your SEE Chapter is an avenue for you to keep informed of what's going on in the industry. Here is where you can share your views, vent to your colleagues about the economic woes, and share with one another tips and guidance to keep up with the new policies and guidelines that regulating bodies constantly develop, revise, and reinvent. I am challenging each of you to become more involved in your chapter.
The Board of Directors has prepared a great line up of speakers for your quarterly member meetings. We challenge you to clear your schedules and join us each quarter to share your thoughts, questions/concerns, hot topics that are affecting your businesses. Use your chapter as a portal to learn and teach. The Board of Director's are looking for members to join us on the various working committees to bring new perspectives, new eyes and ears to your chapter. There are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved...small ways, large ways..ANY way you can!!
We ask that you join us on November 13,14th at our new meeting location, The Four Points Sheraton in Hagerstown, Maryland. As many of you experienced at our first quarterly meeting in 2008, the new meeting room and banquet facilities and outstanding staff went above and beyond making the switch from the Clarion well worth the change! Thanks to Craig Mooney for all his efforts in making this happen!
The seminar committee has been and will continue to work on the program agenda, and has some outstanding topics and speakers already lined up for the November meeting. So, bring yourself, co-workers, a friend...come ready to participate and learn...if you have ideas on topics or speakers...let me or one of your directors know your thoughts...we want your help!
